Privacy Policy

In the app: OwnVault does not collect or upload your vault data. The website is separate and may process basic request information as described below.

OwnVault app data

OwnVault is a local-only password manager. Entries, accounts, passwords, hints, and notes are stored encrypted on your device. The app requests no network permission and performs no vault upload, synchronization, telemetry, advertising, or crash reporting.

Encryption and device security

Passwords and hints are individually encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and the database is encrypted with SQLCipher. The generated master key is held by iOS Keychain or Android Keystore. Unlock patterns and master PINs are represented by salted Argon2id hashes. Biometric information remains under operating-system control.

Backups and deletion

Backups are user-initiated files protected with an Argon2id-derived key and AES-256-GCM. Where you store or send a backup is your choice. Uninstalling the app removes its local data; we have no server copy to restore.

Purchases

Apple App Store and Google Play process purchases, orders, and refunds under their policies. These services do not receive your vault data from OwnVault. Android entitlement checks are handled by Google Play without granting OwnVault general network access.

Website data

The website is delivered through hosting and content-delivery infrastructure that may process standard request data such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp for security and reliable delivery. If privacy-preserving aggregate analytics are enabled, the site will not use them to inspect vault data or create advertising profiles.

Email sent to our support address is processed by the sender's and recipient's email providers. We use it to answer the request and maintain necessary support records.

Children

OwnVault does not knowingly collect personal information from children and is not directed specifically to children under 13.
